CITIZEN SAFETY
My first priority is to fund our men and women in Blue. Laws should handcuff criminals, not cops. I will stand against radical bills that reward repeat offenders. I will STAND UP for victims of crime. Initiative 2113 was going to the ballot that kept police officers from chasing criminals causing more crime on our streets. A bill like this should never happen. Tony Kiepe is the voice of reason to make sure you feel safe.
HOUSING
Appointed bureaucrats have no accountability to the voters. Building code changes by the legislature gives you the power of transparency. Regulations in Spokane cost home buyers and builders $80,000 more to build here than in Post Falls. I will work to make reasonable regulations, not radical and expensive changes. Laws need to protect our citizens, like young home buyers and seniors struggling to pay taxes to stay in their homes.
PARENTAL RIGHTS
Democrats continue to make bad bills Initiative 2071 was going to the ballot for vote by the people. Initiative 2081 passed in legislature which provides parents with a right to review education materials, receive certain notifications and opt out of sexual education. We should not have initiates because our legislature is wrong on the issues.
CONSUMER CHOICE
· Carriers are raising rates in WA
· Carriers are leaving WA
· Pacific Source is leaving at the end of the year
· Currently less competition on the exchange.
· We need competition to bring down prices
· Maximum out of pocket is $9450. That is not affordable health insurance.
· Monthly premiums have gone up with more out of pocket
